- Can I use an old FOR study guide?
Yes, you can. But if such guide is already filled out, you are missing the opportunity to do your own exercises. Also, be aware of changes, additions, and modifications that are always included in new guides.
- What if I didn’t take the previous course?
You need to ask me for the contents of the previous course so that you can catch up on FOR units.
- What does FOR & RS stand for?
Focus on Reading (study guide).

- What does DE & RQ stand for?
Departmental Exam.
Reading Quiz.
- What if I miss a DE or RQ?
You need to ask me for a make up form, so that you can make up for those on Week 12.
- Can I make up for as many quizzes as I miss?
No. You can only make up one missed quiz.
- What if miss a class?
Check your class calendar and catch up with the readings assigned for the class you missed.
- What if miss a class activity?
You can’t make those up since they are meant to be done in class only.
- What if do poorly on my first DE?
Arrange for a consultation with me for guidelines and probably get extra readings.
- Can I get extra reading work at any time?
No. You need to have completed the RSs’ readings before you get any extra work.
- Can I do a Bonus Activity to improve my grades?
Yes. Check the Bonus page on this blog.
- Can I use an electronic dictionary during exams?
No. Electronic devices of any kind are not allowed during exams.
